League Schedule
Program Philosophy
The mission of all Wahoo Parks and Recreation youth sport programs is to promote a fun, yet challenging environment in which participants are introduced to and taught the basics of a given sport. The program is strictly recreational in nature and emphasizes equal opportunity for involvement and participation.
Participant Eligibility
Participants must be a current 2nd grader or a 1st grader participating in this year's WP&R 1st & 2nd Grade Basketball Clinic.
Registration Period
Now until league reaches capacity. Don't delay!...the league fills quickly! Maximum enrollment is 48 participants. If the league is full when you attempt to register, please ask to be added to the waiting list. You will contacted by WP&R if an opening becomes available.

Program Format
Volunteer coaches lead a 10-15 minute practice followed by an informal game that includes two, 10 minute halves (WP&R staff will officiate). Game scores will not be kept and teams will be coed. The informal games will be an opportunity for the children to practice the skills they have learned. “Man to Man” defense will be the only defense allowed in this league so children have a chance to work on their individual defensive skills. The five-week league will be held on Saturday mornings beginning February 10th. No other practices are held outside of these scheduled times. The league schedule with team rosters will be available on this webpage on or before February 3rd.
Equipment
All equipment will be provided.
Uniforms
Youth participating in Wahoo Parks and Recreation youth sports are required to wear two uniform t-shirts, one blue and one red. The playing schedule dictates which color shirt to wear for each practice/game. These shirts are used for all youth sport programs and are available in a variety of youth and adult sizes and can be purchased at the Civic Center for $6 each.
Schedules
The practice/game schedule and team rosters will be available on this webpage on or before February 3rd.
Miscellaneous
Participants and their parents/guardians should be aware that there is a risk of injury during participation in Wahoo Parks and Recreation youth sports due to the inherent nature of the activities. Individuals participate in Parks and Recreation youth sports programs at their own risk.
Concussion Policy
In compliance with the Nebraska Concussion Awareness Act (LB 260), the Wahoo Parks and Recreation Department has adopted a policy regarding concussions, head injury, and concussed athletes.
